What a great read! Davetta brought tears.

I never realized ANY of this.

You have given me a window

into a whole new dimension of my country.

Not new, y'all were always here!!!

Just new to someone who never knew.

Thank you for the gift of sight.

I’m glad to have opened your eyes, Deborah. Let those young people you are building up know about the work being done in local government. It can be an intensely rewarding career.

That is a great idea!

Thank you so much, Will.

I shall do it!

Contribution

especially to our democracy

is one of the 8 dimensions

I am building in our young.

Ii is the culmination of the others:

mind, spirit, body, character, identity,

capability, love.

Giving our gifts to the world

and contributing to building freedom

gives joy and fulfils our whole being.

I will definitely highlight

how the young person can DO this

right there in their local government.

haha and even be a DJ on the side :)

Hate to admit it, but you're still the best, Mr. Hampton. Great read, great reminders. 🌞

I've always thought *your* storytelling skills were unmatched, Jay, so that comment means the world to me. BTW, I'll be writing about the use of humor at some point in the not too distant future, and you can bet I'll be reaching out to the GOAT of gov humor to discuss The Filter and the funniest video ever produced by a municipal government.

Great article. It makes me think about how important storytelling is at every level of organization, including in families, churches, companies, and nonprofits. Stories are the twigs and little strips of string and lint that birds use to create their nest. When woven and matted together, they create an incubator for life and meaning. You've got my gears turning!

I see those gears turning, Rigel! Beautifully put. In fact, I may “borrow” your lines about the twigs and strips of string in my next post, which is about telling the story of a community. Stay tuned. Inspiring each other is what GGF is all about.
